Better Breathing

Better Breathing

September 18th – October 23rd, 2020

no class on 9/25

Zoom with Ann and Brian * Friday at 12pm

NOW A FREE OFFERING! Fridays at 12:00pm EST with Ann and Brian: We take 25,000 breaths each day and can probably count how many we notice on one hand. Our breath provides us an amazingly versatile tool for taming stress and anxiety, reducing inflammation and even building a healthy immune system!

In this fun, informal series, we explore how our posture and gentle stretches can support better breathing as well as how we can build greater everyday awareness of our breath. Upon this foundation, we then practice several gentle breath control techniques to enhance our physical, mental and emotional health.

Change your breathing, change your life.

Throughout this series, we discuss the ancient wisdom as well as the latest medical research on the breath, including:

  • Basic breath anatomy and how we can increase our lung capacity
  • Why we should use our nose, rather than our mouth for respiration
  • Our breath’s connection to the rest, digest and healing functions of the autonomic nervous system

Students will leave this series equipped with a “breath toolkit” which can be easily accessed anytime for that instant energy boost, deep relaxation response or steady calm focus. No experience necessary, just an open mind and a desire to live life to the fullest.

Join our Better Breathing community for the entire fall session from September 18th-October 23th, or drop in to individual classes as your schedule allows.

Breathe in deeply to bring your mind home to your body.
